Daphne giraldii  Nitsche (1907)

 

from China, provinces Kansu and Shensi / growing on forested slopes / up to 1 m tall and also wide/ deciduous / scented / absolutely hardy, best planted on a sunny place / named after Père Giraldi (1894)

 

Daphne giraldii is an excellent shrub with a very elegant and tender fragrance of vanilla and lemon.

This species thrived well for years in a dry loamy soil without further drainage, on a sunny place.

 

Daphne x ‘In Paradise’ is the first Daphne giraldii hybrid
