a natural hybrid that grows around the Lake Garda area / about 0,5 m high and also wide / deciduous / hardy / scented / orange fruits  

habit of Daphne x reichsteinii is like Daphne alpina and flower colour comes from Daphne petraea  

Daphne x reichsteinii is the first known self-fertile hybrid / first, the status of a hybrid was called into question because seeds, on a Daphne hybrid was unknown

In 2011 a further natural Daphne alpina hybrid was collected and described as Daphne x savensis - link to another homepage. It is a hybrid between Daphne alpina subsp. scopoliana and Daphne cneorum subsp. cneorum.
