              - all about the Genus Daphne

Daphne - Seidelbast
Beautiful Plants for the
Charming Garden

Daphne x ‘Maisy Larae’  breeder Rick Lupp

Daphne x ‘Geert Borgonje’  breeder Dirk M. Jockel

Hybrid parents: Daphne circassica x Daphne arbuscula

Up to 20 cm high and nearly 30 cm across / evergreen / hardy / sunny to half-shadowed place / scented / no fruits

The motherplant Daphne circassica has a strong influence on the hybrid Daphne x ‘Maisy Larae’ in contrast to the other hybrid

Daphne x ‘Geert Borgonje’ is the dominant part the pollen plant Daphne arbuscula

Rick Lupp (former Mt. Tahoma Nursery, U.S.A.) named this cross after one of his grandchildren,

another hybrid made by Rick Lupp is Daphne x ‘Kelsey Ann’.

For my new hybrid of Daphne circassica and Daphne arbuscula I decided to name it after the great rock gardener and admirable plant friend from the Netherlands Geert Borgonje. His extensive knowledge, help, and advice made this homepage possible.
